Digitizing Clinical Trials for Oncology
The shift to decentralized and hybrid trial designs enables better collection, analysis and management of data and leads to an improved patient experience by using wearables and patient apps.
HANSE Study - Digitalization enables decentralization
Alcedis has conducted a lighthouse lung cancer study where >400,000 potential subjects have been approached, >13,000 patients were screened, and 5,191 patients were recruited in 15 months. Subject data, CT scan evaluation and risk scoring were AI-supported. The recruitment campaign was also supported by Social media, Google Ads, personalized mailings and a strong media presence (newspapers, TV).
Streamlined Patient Journey
Online self-registration with a primary self-assessment for eligibility screening, appointment self-booking of low dose CTs in a mobile CT truck.
Recruitment Success
Recruitment was driven by a high level of public visibility and digital accessibility. Over 60% of participants self-registered online, despite the age of the target group (55-79 years old).
Pioneering Approach
National lung cancer screening program: HANSE study results initiated and supported a national governmental screening program that may already start in 2024.
